Each appointment's background can be colour coded. By default it's the location's colour however it can be overridden. Notice the appointment on Sat, 07 Feb at 10:00 ... each little coloured box is a category which you have associated with the appointment. When you move your mouse over the appointment a tooltip pops up showing the appointment summary. You have your other normal calendar views of course:

· http://www.jdnet.co.uk/TASC/01_GlobalSchedule_MonthView.jpg
You can also group the schedule in many ways, e.g.:
You can drag'n'drop appointments to reschedule them. TASC will keep note of the appointments movements, so you can see a history of changes. You can right click on one (or more than one) appointment and bring up the context menu. You have the normal cut/copy/paste facilities as well as the ability to edit the appointment, e.g.:
By default double-clicking on an appointment will edit it however you can get it to optionally go straight to the appointment’s lesson plan screen:
This allows you to take quickly take notes, etc during a lesson if needed.
You also have the SMS ability, whereby you can send a text message to student’s (and/or their parent):
This also shows the token replacement facility you have whereby you can generate personalised messages. Note that in order to send an SMS you must connect your mobile phone to your PC (either via the phone’s supplied cable or via Bluetooth). Any messages sent will be as if you sent them normally via your phone, therefore you may incur network charges.
When you create student lessons/events you have various ways of generating dates/times for the appointments:
· http://www.jdnet.co.uk/TASC/08_AppointmentGenerator_RunningRota.jpg
However you do it all these appointments are linked together in a series. This allows you to optionally add/delete/edit everything in this series. For example here is the screen to quickly reschedule appointments in a series:
You can also see your upcoming appointments (the outlook tab):
Clicking on one of these will show the appointment in the global schedule however hitting ctrl+click will show the parent/student tab:
This screen is split into 3 parts:
1. Left pane - parent quick list - allows you to quickly drill down to find parents/students, e.g.: http://www.jdnet.co.uk/TASC/03_ParentsAndStudents_QuickList.jpg
2. Middle pane - view the selected parent
3. Right pane - students associated with the parent
In the middle pane you can see little icons. The little globe beside the postcode will show the postcode in google maps. The little phone beside the module numbers will bring up the SMS. In the right hand pane are the students for the parent. The tab at the top shows you the student names. The tabs at the bottom show you the various screens for the student:
· General – shows general information about the student: http://www.jdnet.co.uk/TASC/03_ParentsAndStudents_StudentGeneral.jpg
· Schedule – shows the students personal schedule: http://www.jdnet.co.uk/TASC/03_ParentsAndStudents_StudentSchedule.jpg

· Show students by age - http://www.jdnet.co.uk/TASC/06_Chart_StudentsByAge.jpg (remember, this is synthetic data hence the negative age)
